The mosque was constructed by Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, a former Member of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as part of his contribution to religious and community development.
The commissioning ceremony drew the attendance of several distinguished personalities, including the Governor of Jigawa State, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Aminu Usman; the Emir of Dutse, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mohammed Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, CFR; the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu; former Senator Sabo Na Kudu; as well as other serving and retired government officials.
Following Qur’anic recitations, Engr. Bashir Adamu Aliyu and several Islamic scholars delivered exhortations, urging the faithful to uphold Islamic teachings and values in their daily lives.
The mosque was built with the aim of promoting peace, religious development, and unity among the people of Birnin Kudu and Jigawa State at large.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari appealed to Islamic clerics, particularly those at the grassroots level, to fully appreciate the central role of mosques in traditional and communal life. He emphasized that a mosque should not only serve as a place of worship, but also as a centre for learning, moral instruction, and unity for the ummah. He called on religious leaders to utilize mosques as hubs for social engagement and to continue fostering unity within the Muslim community.
Rt. Hon. Masari also extolled the virtues of Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu and expressed appreciation for his loyalty and commitment over more than two decades.
The Farouk Adamu Aliyu Mosque forms part of the Alkali Adamu Aliyu Complex in Birnin Kudu. In his opening remarks, Engr. Bashir Adamu Aliyu thanked his brother, Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, for undertaking the construction of the mosque, noting that it would serve as Sadaqatul Jariya for their parents.
